Dignitas have denied Titan's comeback in the grand final of Fragbite Masters, defeating them 3-2 (16-5 on de_mirage, 12-16 on de_dust2, 10-16 on de_nuke, 16-8 on de_inferno) after having an automatic 1-0 advantage due to coming from the upper bracket.

The final day of Fragbite Masters featured two teams who made it through a rigorous process that involved group stage and a full double elimination bracket over the past 3 weeks, dignitas and Titan.

The Danish team somewhat surprisingly topped the upper bracket, most recently knocking down EMS One Katowice champions Virtus.pro with a 2-0 victory in the upper final.

On the other hand Titan knocked down NiP, but then lost to the Poles in the upper bracket only to later get revenge in the consolidation final and secure their place in the final match.

With 60,000 SEK (~$9,200) on the line, the grand final started with an automatic 1-0 advantage for dignitas thanks to coming from the upper bracket.

The first map was de_mirage, on which Titan have been struggling with 3 losses in 4 matches this month, and it turned out it was the right map for dignitas to start with.

Despite losing the pistol and going down 0-3, the Danes ended up only losing only one buy round and winning their CT side 11-4. With the second pistol also in the bag, they ended up taking the first map in a very convincing fashion, 16-5, and going up 2-0 in the series.

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen was the team's main fragger throughout the tournament, and he continued doing well in that first map, topping the scoreboard with 22:10, but even though he was once again great on de_dust2, it wasn't enough to clinch the series just yet.

Titan won the harder CT side 12-3, and despite a good comeback by dignitas back to 14-12, it was Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans who snapped his team out of troubles with several great rounds (26:16 personal score) to take the map 16-12 and make it 2-1 overall.

Third map was de_nuke with dignitas once again starting on the stronger side, as counter-terrorists. And still it was Titan with the better start for the third time in a row, winning the pistol on the harder side and securing an early lead.

But then, the Danes went for a surprise 3rd round buy and got back into the game sooner than expected, showing why they've been a perfect 3 for 3 on this map in Fragbite Masters so far.

The French-Belgian squad found it hard breaking through their defense for the remainder of the half, only winning two well executed attacks and a hectic final round of the half in which the tournament's main star, Richard "shox" Papillon, hung on against Rene "cajunb" Borg in a 1-on-1 situation.

But despite trailing 5-10, Titan were never really in trouble as they have also been almost perfect on this map, winning 9 of their 10 matches on de_nuke in 2014. And surely round by round, the comeback started happening as the Frenchmen completely shut down both bombsites.

In the end, dignitas were unable to make a single breakthrough, losing eleven rounds in a row for a final score of 16-10, taking this grand final to the deciding fifth map.

It was all down to de_inferno, where dignitas yet again won the knife round and elected to start on the preferred CT side.

This time they finally got a good start, going up 5-0 before Titan replied with two in a row. Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen saved his team from having to eco by mowing down his opponents at the B bombsite's entrance with a famas, but despite his efforts their defense still crumbled in the following rounds.

Titan tied the score at 7-7 and they were in the driver's seat at this moment, but Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth reaffirmed himself as one of the best clutchers in the world after adding another 1-on-1 (his 6th 1-on-X win of the tournament) for an 8-7 lead at the half.

FeTiSh's side topped their 3rd-4th finish in Katowice with a 1st place in Fragbite Masters

Dignitas had troubles with their T sides so far, but Rasmussen's 4 glock kills won them the second pistol and provided some wind for their sails. Borg's four AK47 kills in the first buy round, including a 1-on-1 clutch, then made it 12-7 and Titan were now in trouble.

They stubbornly attempted to stay in the game by forcing weak buys in the next two rounds, but despite getting the entry kills they went down 14-7. Their 8th round was notched when it was already too late, as the Danes simply had it all figured out, clinching a 16-8 victory, 3-2 overall for their first trophy of 2014.
